Katsina — Residents of the Sabuwar Kofa area in Katsina State were thrown into confusion on Sunday after a man climbed an uncompleted building and refused to come down, allegedly in protest over his in-laws’ decision to take his wife away.
According to a local report, the yet-to-be-identified man perched himself on the edge of the building, vowing not to descend until his wife was returned to him.

A viral video circulating on social media shows the visibly agitated man clinging to a concrete ledge as concerned residents gathered below, pleading with him to come down.
“This man climbed the end of this building in Sabuwar Kofa, expressing anger with his in-laws who came to his house and took his wife away. He said he will not come down until they bring her back,” a local publication reported.
In the footage, onlookers could be heard calling out to the man while others tried to calm him, assuring him that the matter could be resolved peacefully. Some residents reportedly mistook him for a thief at first, until witnesses clarified that he was protesting the removal of his wife from their home.
