We Know Them|— Governor Zulum Names Boko Haram Informants in Government

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has made explosive claims, accusing certain Nigerian politicians and security personnel of secretly aiding the Boko Haram insurgency. the governor did not mince words as he vowed to confront internal saboteurs undermining efforts to end terrorism in the region.

Zulum alleged that informants within the government and military ranks are leaking sensitive intelligence to Boko Haram, fueling continued attacks in Borno and neighboring states. He warned that anyone caught aiding insurgents — regardless of status — would be “dealt with ruthlessly.

There are people within the system who provide information to Boko Haram. We know them, and we will go after them,” the governor declared.

The governor’s comments come in the wake of a devastating attack by Boko Haram fighters on two villages in Borno State, which reportedly claimed the lives of at least 57 people and left over 70 missing. The attack was attributed to the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of Boko Haram.

These recurring attacks highlight the worsening security situation and the challenge of rooting out insurgency in a region where trust in institutions is already fragile.

Zulum emphasized that the war against insurgency cannot be won unless internal betrayals are addressed. He called for stronger intelligence operations and tighter screening of security personnel and political figures with possible extremist affiliations.

His remarks have stirred strong reactions nationwide, with many Nigerians echoing his call for urgent reforms in the military and political sectors to clean out collaborators within the system.
