Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has warned Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara against any attempt to sideline or “sack” the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, insisting that such a move is politically unrealistic.

Fayose, a former ally of Wike, said the former Rivers governor remains a dominant political force whose influence extends beyond Rivers State, warning that underestimating him could have serious consequences.
According to Fayose, Wike played a central role in shaping the current political structure in Rivers State and cannot simply be wished away from the state’s power dynamics. He argued that political disagreements should be managed through dialogue rather than confrontation.
He advised Governor Fubara to focus on governance and stability, noting that prolonged political battles could distract the administration and negatively affect development in the state.
Fayose also cautioned that internal conflicts within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) risk weakening the party and giving advantage to opposition forces, especially ahead of future elections.
The warning comes amid ongoing political tension between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Wike, over control of the Rivers State political machinery and loyalty of key stakeholders.
