A Popular Political Analysis , Barrister Darlington, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) missed the right moment to expel former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, when he first began making bold claims of invincibility within the party.
According to Darlington, any attempt to expel Wike at this point would be ineffective.
“He should have been expelled the moment he publicly boasted that no one could expel him. That was the time to act. Now, it’s too late,” he said.
Darlington attributed the PDP’s current inaction to what he described as Wike’s strong backing from influential forces in Abuja.
“His master in Abuja is clearly behind him. Trying to expel him now is a complete waste of time — it will lack the weight and pressure it needs to succeed,” he added.
The statement comes amid ongoing internal tensions within the PDP, especially surrounding Wike’s role in the party and his alignment with the APC-led federal government.
