A 20-year-old housewife, Fatima Abdullahi, was on Monday arraigned before a Kano Sharia Court for allegedly stealing food items and ₦250,000 in cash from her employer.
Abdullahi, who resides in Unguwar Uku, Kano, is facing a charge of theft.
According to the Prosecution Counsel, Zahradeen Abubakar, the case was reported on May 6 at the Hotoro Police Station by the complainant, Yusuf Hassan.
Abubakar informed the court that the defendant was employed as a domestic helper in the complainant’s household when the alleged theft occurred.
Upon arraignment, the defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.
Presiding Judge, Malam Umar Lawal, granted her bail in the sum of ₦30,000, with one surety who must be a blood relative. He adjourned the case to June 19 for summary trial.
