The Ondo State Police Command has launched an investigation into the mysterious death of an unidentified woman found in a hotel room in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area. Authorities say the woman’s male companion, who checked in with her, reportedly fled the premises before the discovery.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at a hotel along the Ore–Okitipupa Road. Hotel staff reported that the couple had checked in together earlier in the day, but the woman was later found lifeless on the bed while the man was nowhere to be found.
“The worker immediately alerted other staff, and the matter was promptly reported at the police station in Ore,” a hotel source told The PUNCH, requesting anonymity.
Preliminary observations indicated no visible injuries on the victim and no signs of struggle inside the room, prompting investigators to probe the circumstances surrounding her death.
Confirming the development, Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that detectives are actively working to locate the fleeing man, who is now considered a prime suspect.
The deceased’s body has been deposited at a local hospital morgue as investigations continue to reconstruct the events leading to her death.
