WORKERS STORM GOMBE GOVT HOUSE OVER UNPAID WAGES

The staff members of the Gombe State Environmental Protection Agency stormed the Gombe State Government House in protest of alleged three months of unpaid wages.

the protesters were seen walking from the Terminus Roundabout to the Government House with placards and green leaves.

In April 2022, a similar protest occurred, where the cleaners claimed that they were being owed

Some of the workers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, claimed Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, in his recent media chat, claimed to have released all pending payments.

On his part, The General Manager, GOSEPA, Muhammad Kumo, who refused to issue an official statement, arrived almost immediately and tried to quell the protest.

He promised to look into the issue while pleading with the protesters to disperse.
