The management of the Federal University, Gusau, in Zamfara State, has charged all students living in the Damba district of Gusau to either relocate to Sabon Gida or stay within the Gusau metropolis in the state capital.
This was contained in a statement issued by the institution’s information officer, Comrade Umar Usman, stating that the students would be more secure in Gusau town or Sabon Gida village.
The statement explained that this is because they are more vulnerable to bandit attacks when living at the outskirts, especially Damba.”
Usman further stated that the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji and Metro Joint Patrol also called Eagle Eye have successfully rescued all the four kidnapped students of the institution who were abducted on Saturday, 14th October 2023, at Sabon Garin Damba Area, Gusau.
He explained that two out of the four kidnapped students escaped after they were abducted while the remaining two were rescued after the military troops engaged the bandits on heavy gun battle.
