In a dazzling celebration of tradition and unity, the ancient town of Ikenga in Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State, officially crowned HRH Igwe Chinonso Ezeokafor as the Aku Akandu I of Ikenga. The historic event, held at the monarch’s palace, brought together a diverse assembly of dignitaries, traditional leaders, and jubilant citizens eager to witness the dawn of a new era.
The ceremony featured the leadership of the Ikenga Progressives Union, led by Mr. Michael Azubuike Odika, along with Ndi Ichie, Nze, Umuada Ikenga, and other prominent figures. With a blend of cultural richness and profound respect for heritage, the town’s Prime Minister, alongside the Nze n’ Ozo, Ichies, and Town Union executives, presented the Royal Scepter of Ikenga to HRH Igwe Ezeokafor, officially sealing his coronation.

Accompanied by his wife, Lolo Ifeyinwa Ezeokafor, the young and dynamic king graced the gathering with a regal dance, synchronized with the captivating uvie music that filled the atmosphere. HRH Igwe Chinonso Ezeokafor, a proud son of Umuzeogu in Ifite, assumes his throne as Ike III of Ikenga, carrying the aspirations of the town into a promising chapter of growth, harmony, and transformation.
