Amnesty International Nigeria has condemned the recent deadly attack in Plateau State, describing it as a horrific and shameful reflection of the government’s failure to protect lives.
The attack, which took place on Monday in Bindi-Jebbu, Tahoss community, in Riyom Local Government Area, left at least 27 people dead.
In a post on X, Amnesty International alleged that entire families were deliberately targeted locked inside their homes and killed while others who tried to escape were reportedly gunned down.

The rights group strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of failing to deliver on promises to end violence across the country, particularly in Plateau State, which has suffered repeated attacks on rural communities.
Amnesty is calling for an impartial investigation into the killings, justice for the victims, and urgent reforms to prevent future violence.
