
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, on February 19, 2025, received the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, alongside members of the House and political party leaders at the Police Headquarters in Awka.

The meeting focused on security concerns in the state, particularly the ongoing efforts to apprehend fleeing suspects linked to a recent incident. CP Orutugu reassured the delegation that the police are taking all necessary measures to re-arrest the suspects and ensure justice is served. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and strengthening public confidence in the state’s security framework.
The Commissioner also briefed the delegation on steps already taken to track the fugitives and the disciplinary actions being implemented against officers connected to the case.
In attendance were key political figures, including Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Majority Leader Hon. Engr. Sir Ikenna Sylvester Ofodeme, Hon. Jude Ifenanyi Umennajiego, the State Chairman of the Labour Party, and other senior political delegates.
The meeting concluded with a solemn one-minute silence in memory of the late Honourable Justice Azuka.
