
The Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development, in collaboration with key stakeholders, has organized a one-day capacity-building workshop aimed at enhancing the training skills of Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (EDIs) in the state.
The event, themed “Upgrading the Training Skills of Entrepreneurship Development Institutes for Creating Smart Entrepreneurs,” was held at the UNIZIK Business School, Awka. It focused on equipping trainers with innovative methodologies to foster a new generation of forward-thinking entrepreneurs.
Declaring the workshop open, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Aghamba, emphasized the need for trainers to shift from traditional employment approaches to an entrepreneurial mindset driven by innovation and adaptability. He stressed the importance of upgrading training strategies to meet evolving market demands.
Speaking at the event, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Professor Joseph Ikechebelu, represented by his Special Assistant on Academic Matters, Professor Ada Omeniyi, lauded the collaboration between the university and the state government. He expressed optimism that the partnership would be sustained for the continuous development of entrepreneurship in Anambra.
The workshop is part of ongoing efforts by the Anambra State Government to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and support the growth of small and medium-scale enterprises across the state.
