Barcelona will formally unveil captain Raphinha’s contract extension on Thursday, 5 November, securing the Brazilian forward’s future at the club until 30 June 2030.
The new deal, which was signed in early October, extends his previous contract by two years. The agreement had already received approval from the player, his representatives and the club.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed the development on X on Wednesday, saying the club was set to announce the extension after finalising arrangements with Raphinha’s new agents.
Barcelona sporting director Deco had earlier confirmed an agreement in principle during the club’s general assembly in September, indicating that the 29-year-old would remain at the club for another four years.
Raphinha has become one of Barcelona’s most important players under manager Hansi Flick. Since joining the Catalan side from Leeds United in 2022, the Brazilian has grown into a key figure and was named club captain.
His impressive performances across La Liga and the UEFA Champions League have strengthened the club’s determination to retain him.
The extension is expected to provide continuity in Barcelona’s attack and leadership group as the club continues its project under Flick.
