Social media comedian Carter Efe has defeated street-hop artiste Habeeb Badmus, popularly known as Portable, in a celebrity boxing showdown to emerge the new champion at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event in Lagos.
The bout, held on Friday night at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, saw Efe dominate all three rounds, earning a unanimous decision victory from the judges, who scored the fight 27-30 in his favour.
The result marks Portable’s first defeat in celebrity boxing, ending his unbeaten run after previous wins against Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.
Fight highlights
Portable entered the ring with confidence, boasting ahead of the fight that he would claim a third title.
“I will use you to collect my third belt… I will beat you now,” he had declared.
Efe, however, responded with equal confidence: “One punch and you fall.”
In the opening round, Portable came out aggressively, throwing wild punches, but Efe maintained composure, countering effectively with clean uppercuts and body shots.
The second round saw a similar pattern, with Portable’s erratic style failing to break Efe’s rhythm, as the comedian landed more accurate combinations.
By the third round, Efe had firmly taken control, consistently out-landing Portable and sealing the victory before the final bell.
With the win, Carter Efe dethrones Portable to become the new celebrity boxing champion, in what many fans are already describing as a major upset in Nigeria’s growing entertainment boxing scene.
