Burna Boy, a well-known musician from Nigeria, won the “Best International Act” prize at the 2023 BET Awards, which took place on Sunday night in Los Angeles, California.
The ‘Last Last’ crooner battled French vocalist Aya Nakamura, British singers Ella Mai, Stormzy, and Central Cee, as well as his native Ayra Starr to win the prize.
Burna Boy’s achievement increased his record for receiving the most awards in the “Best International Act” category of the BET Awards (4).
The past two years have been great for Bunaboy.
He won a BET Award in the same category in 2019 and 2021, and his 2022 album “Love, Damini” became a global hit.
Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O., L7nnon, Stormzy, Tiakola, and Uncle Waffles were also nominated in this category.
