Real Madrid have announced the re-election of Florentino Pérez as president of the club following the conclusion of the latest presidential election.

In an official statement released on the club’s website on Monday morning, the Electoral Board confirmed that Pérez secured victory after all in-person and postal votes were counted.

“With 100% of the in-person and postal votes counted, the candidacy headed by Mr. Florentino Pérez has won the elections for President and Board of Directors of Real Madrid,” the statement read.

According to the Electoral Board, Mr Pérez received 21,741 votes, representing 65 percent of the total votes cast.

Election results

The club stated that Pérez defeated challenger Enrique Riquelme, who secured 11,814 votes, representing 35 percent of the ballots.

“The candidacy headed by Mr. Florentino Pérez obtained 21,741 votes, which represents 65%,” the statement said.

“The candidacy headed by Mr. Enrique Riquelme obtained 11,814 votes, representing 35%,” the Electoral Board added.

The result ensures that Pérez will continue leading the Spanish football giants into another term.

New board of directors

The newly elected administration will include Vice Presidents Eduardo Fernández de Blas, Pedro López Jiménez, Enrique Sánchez González and Enrique Pérez Rodríguez.

The board also includes Secretary José Luis del Valle Pérez alongside several other directors who will serve during the new administration.

Mr Pérez’s re-election further extends his long-standing leadership of Real Madrid, one of the most successful football clubs in the world.

Under his presidency, the club has won multiple domestic and international trophies while also overseeing major commercial growth and stadium redevelopment projects.

His latest victory reinforces continued support from club members as Real Madrid prepare for another competitive era in Spanish and European football.
