Afrobeats artiste Habeeb Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has alleged foul play following his defeat to comedian Carter Efe in a celebrity boxing match held in Lagos.
Portable made the claims during a live session on his Instagram page on Saturday morning, hours after losing by unanimous decision at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event.
“I was robbed. Carter Efe was not professional enough… I threw him many punches, why didn’t you people count them?” he said.
The singer accused organisers and officials of bias, alleging that his opponent used unfair tactics during the bout.
“They did ojoro for me… Carter Efe was just holding my neck. I was punching him too but you people are not talking about that,” Portable said.
He also demanded payment of his streaming revenue, claiming he was owed about ₦200 million from the event.
“Just give me my money before I cause trouble,” he added.
Personal milestone
Despite his grievances, Portable downplayed the importance of the title, revealing that he recently welcomed a baby boy.
“My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I value that more than a belt,” he said.
Fight recap
The match, held at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, saw Carter Efe dominate across three rounds, with all judges scoring the bout 27–30 in his favour.
The result ended Portable’s unbeaten streak in celebrity boxing, following earlier victories over Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.
Before the fight, Portable had confidently predicted victory, boasting that he would secure a third title.
However, inside the ring, Carter Efe leveraged his height and reach advantage to outbox the singer, landing cleaner punches and controlling the pace throughout the contest.
With the victory, Carter Efe was crowned the new celebrity boxing champion, marking a significant shift in Nigeria’s entertainment boxing scene.
