Nollywood actress Rachael Okonkwo, popularly known as Nkoli Nwa Nsukka, has sparked excitement among fans after a video showing her receiving a marriage proposal surfaced online.

In the viral clip, the actress is seen wearing an engagement ring and holding a bouquet of red roses at what appeared to be the proposal venue.

Okonkwo, who appeared visibly excited, was heard saying, “I’m blushing, and I’m shy.”

Actress celebrates proposal

The video has attracted congratulatory messages from fans, friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Her friend and associate, Blessing Nwankwo, celebrated the development on Instagram, describing it as the fulfilment of prayers and saying Okonkwo had waited for the right time.

Another associate, Mumi Zaine, also expressed excitement, recalling that she had hoped the actress would find a suitable partner.

Nollywood actress Anita Joseph joined the celebrations, writing, “We have a wedding to plan.”

Okonkwo’s relationship draws attention

The actress has been linked to businessman Chukwudi Onuorah, with other reports identifying him as the man in the proposal video.

In another video from the proposal, Okonkwo was heard referring to her partner as “my billionaire baby.” However, the actress had not announced a wedding date as of the time of filing its report.

Okonkwo, 39, is widely recognised for her role as Nkoli in the Nkoli Nwa Nsukka film series, which helped establish her as a prominent face in Nigeria’s indigenous-language film industry.

Actress recently appointed in Enugu

The engagement buzz comes weeks after Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah appointed Okonkwo as Senior Special Assistant on Film and Creative Industry Development.

The appointment, announced in September, was part of efforts by the state government to strengthen its creative and film sector.

The actress has also been involved in social and community-focused initiatives outside her acting career.
