Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has publicly accused a Ghanaian television station of broadcasting her latest movie, THE MEMORY OF YOU, without obtaining her permission.
The actress expressed her displeasure on social media, describing the unauthorized airing of the film as a violation of intellectual property rights. She stated that the station failed to seek approval or secure a licensing agreement before showing the movie.
Iyabo Ojo condemned the alleged act of piracy, emphasizing that such practices discourage filmmakers who invest significant time, effort, and resources into producing quality content. She called on the relevant authorities to take action against copyright infringement and protect the rights of content creators.
The incident has sparked discussions among fans and industry stakeholders, with many calling for stronger enforcement of copyright laws to curb movie piracy across Africa. As of the time of this report, the Ghanaian television station involved has not publicly responded to the allegations.
