JUST IN: Two trucks, car collide on Lagos expressway

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has confirmed a multiple-vehicle accident involving two articulated trucks and a private car at TREM inward Gbagada along the Lagos expressway.

The incident, which occurred on Monday, triggered emergency response efforts and traffic management operations to ease congestion and restore normal movement along the busy corridor.

In a traffic update shared via its official communication channels, the agency disclosed that emergency responders had already been mobilised to the scene while recovery operations commenced.

“A multiple-vehicle collision involving two articulated trucks laden with cargo and one private car has occurred at TREM inward Gbagada along the Expressway,” the agency stated.

Emergency response underway

Providing updates on the situation, the agency noted that recovery teams had been deployed to remove affected vehicles and minimise disruption to traffic flow.

“A tow truck has been mobilized to the location, and recovery operations are currently in progress,” the statement added.

The authority further stated that its Rescue and Recovery Unit was actively coordinating operations at the accident scene to support vehicle evacuation and maintain order on the expressway.

“Additionally, the LASTMA Rescue and Recovery Unit has been deployed to the scene to facilitate prompt vehicle extrication and enforce effective traffic management,” the agency stated.

Motorists were advised to exercise caution while approaching the affected area and expect delays as emergency and recovery operations continue.
