The Nigeria Forest and Security Service (NFSS) in Kano State says it received 145 crime-related complaints in August, slightly lower than the 149 cases recorded in July.
The Public Relations Officer of the NFSS in Kano, Malam Usman Umar, disclosed this to the Voice of the People (VOP), noting that the service remains committed to preventing and detecting crimes, as well as curbing illegal activities within the forests.
According to him, 90 of the cases have already been resolved, while 55 remain under investigation.
He explained that most of the incidents involved bush burning, cattle rustling, car and motorcycle theft, tricycle theft, kidnapping, house and shop break-ins, thuggery, and robbery.
Umar reaffirmed the NFSSโs commitment to making forests crime-free and urged members of the public to promptly report any suspicious or criminal activities in their communities.
