Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State was injured in a road accident on Monday while traveling between Daura and Dutsin-Ma. According to official sources, the accident occurred around noon and involved the governor’s convoy.
Eyewitnesses say one of the vehicles in the convoy veered off the road, leading to a minor collision. Emergency services responded quickly, and Governor Radda was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
A statement released by the Katsina State Government confirmed that the governor sustained injuries but is currently in stable condition and receiving treatment. “Governor Radda is responding well to care and is expected to make a full recovery. We thank the public for their prayers and concern,” the statement read.
Several aides and security personnel were also involved in the crash but reportedly suffered only minor injuries.
Governor Radda, known for his active field engagements and community outreach, was en route to inspect local development projects when the incident occurred.
Leaders across political lines and citizens of Katsina State have since expressed their support and well wishes for the governor’s speedy recovery.
