The Gambia Police Force has initiated a manhunt for Mamadou Salieu Dambale, a married man accused of r3ping a 12-year-old girl in his area.According to local media, the suspect, who lives with his wife and children in Sare Gillah village, Toumana District, frequently jokingly referred to the victim as “wife”.
According to reports, the youngster was coming from her mother’s groundnut field last week when she came upon Mamadou, a 30-year-old farmer.
He began joking with her as normal, but then took her into the bush, where he reportedly r3ped her.
The girl’s grandma, who was working on her own farm, heard her granddaughter scream and hurried to find her.
To her surprise, she discovered the girl bleeding from her private areas.
When the grandma inquired what occurred, the girl claimed Mamadou r3ped her.
The grandma prodded her again, and the youngster said the same thing.
The youngster was transported to Basse Health Centre, where she is currently being treated.
