Residents of Okpoko, a densely populated community in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, have rallied in a solidarity walk to show support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo while assessing various government projects in their area.
Organized by the Ochendo for Soludo Support Group, the walk commenced at the Onitsha Holiday Resort, attracting men, women, and youths, all singing praises of the governor’s developmental strides. Participants carried banners expressing their appreciation for the ongoing transformation in their community.
During the exercise, community leaders and members of the support group visited key project sites, including the newly constructed Okpoko General Hospital, a government-funded pipe-borne water project, solar-powered streetlights, ongoing road constructions, and completed road projects.

Speaking to the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Mr. Martins Eze, Coordinator of the Ochendo for Soludo Support Group in Ogbaru Local Government Area, commended Governor Soludo for his commitment to infrastructure development, particularly in Okpoko, which had long suffered neglect. He emphasized that the walk was both a show of appreciation and a demonstration of their unwavering support ahead of the November 8 election.
Other community stakeholders, including Hon. Ezeribe Ezeanuna, Ephraim Madu, and Mrs. Ebere Umeh, lauded the ongoing projects as a reflection of true democracy in action. They pledged to support the governor’s re-election bid while encouraging residents to remain law-abiding.
Several residents who spoke to ABS also expressed gratitude to Governor Soludo for improving their living conditions and giving them a renewed sense of belonging.
