Opposition leader and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, has raised alarm over the rising wave of kidnappings and killings across Nigeria. In a statement shared on his X account, Obi described the country’s security situation as dire, urging immediate action to protect lives and restore public confidence.

These victims, he noted, were individuals dedicated to uplifting their communities through their work in education, healthcare, and agriculture.
“These are people contributing immensely to our national development through their sacrifices. Nothing justifies these kidnappings and killings,” Obi stated.
