
The Nasarawa State Police Command has successfully rescued Emmanuel Omanji, the traditional ruler of Dari, who was abducted from his palace in Kokona Local Government Area on May 28.
In a statement released on Tuesday in Lafia, the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the monarch’s safe recovery.
“We are pleased to report that the Sangarin Dari, who was abducted on May 28, has been rescued unharmed,” Nansel stated.
According to him, the operation took place around 11:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2, in the Panwasa Mountains near Mada Station. The rescue was carried out following sustained pressure from the command’s Search and Rescue Team.

Following the successful operation, Omanji was taken to the hospital for medical attention and has since been reunited with his family.
Nansel noted that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects who fled the scene during the rescue.
On behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Shetima Jauro-Mohammed, the police spokesperson expressed gratitude to the public for their support and timely information, which he said greatly aided the operation.
Jauro-Mohammed also commended the contributions of other security agencies and local vigilante groups, emphasizing that their collaboration was instrumental to the success of the rescue mission.
