Vice President Kashim Shettima will visit Ekiti State on Tuesday for a one-day working visit during which he is expected to inaugurate major projects across the state.
The Special Adviser on Media to Ekiti State Governor, Yinka Oyebode, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Ado Ekiti.
According to the statement, Governor Biodun Oyebanji will lead top government officials to receive the Vice President on arrival at the Ekiti Agro Allied International Cargo Airport.
Projects scheduled for inauguration
Mr Oyebode stated that the Vice President, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, would perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone during the visit.
He added that Mr Shettima would also inaugurate the newly constructed zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission located along old Iyin Road in Ado Ekiti.
The Vice President is also expected to inaugurate the newly completed 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover at Okeyinmi in Ado Ekiti, described as one of the legacy projects of the Oyebanji administration.
Second official visit to Ekiti
The upcoming visit will mark Mr Shettima’s second official trip to Ekiti State since assuming office as Vice President.
Recall that in May 2024, the Vice President visited the state where he inaugurated projects including the Omisanjana–Deeper Life–Ajebandele Road and the MSME clinic in Ado Ekiti.
The state government said arrangements had been concluded to ensure a successful and memorable visit.
Ekiti government highlights federal collaboration
The statement further noted that strategic collaboration with the Federal Government, sub-national governments, development partners and the private sector remains a major part of Governor Oyebanji’s development agenda.
According to the government, such partnerships are aimed at accelerating infrastructure growth, investment opportunities and socio-economic development in the state.
