A tragic road accident claimed the life of one man and left two others injured on Monday along the Trade Fair–Agbara route at Iyana Era Bus Stop in Lagos State.
According to a statement released by the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Elizabeth Jayeola, the crash occurred due to speed violation and loss of control, despite the road being in good condition.
“Preliminary investigations by FRSC indicate that the crash was caused by speed violation and loss of control, despite the smooth condition of the road,” the statement read. “The violent impact led to the death of one adult male, while two others sustained varying degrees of injuries.”
All five occupants involved in the crash were adult males. Emergency response teams reportedly arrived at the scene within four minutes of the incident. The injured victims were promptly transported to Alimosho General Hospital for medical attention, while the deceased, who remained trapped in the vehicle, was towed to the Ijanikin Police Station.
The FRSC is urging motorists to exercise greater caution, especially on clear roads, where the temptation to speed often leads to fatal consequences.
