The Vice President made the announcement in a statement shared on Sunday, expressing gratitude to the medical personnel who assisted during the delivery.

According to Vance, the couple has named their son Alec Neel Vance.

He said the family was overjoyed to welcome the newest addition, noting that their other children were excited to meet their baby brother.

“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning.

“Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.”

Thanks to medical team

The Vice President also acknowledged the efforts of healthcare workers at Walter Reed Medical Centre and the White House Medical Unit, describing their care and support as invaluable.

“The incredible military doctors and staff members of Walter Reed Medical Centre and the White House Medical Unit have been a blessing.

“We are deeply thankful for all they have done for our family,” Vance said.

The birth marks the newest addition to the Vance family.

JD Vance and Usha Vance, who married in 2014, previously had three children before welcoming their fourth child.

Public congratulations

Vance rose to national prominence following the publication of his bestselling memoir, Hillbilly Elegy, before being elected Vice President of the United States alongside President Donald Trump.

Since taking office, he has remained a prominent figure in the administration while balancing his public duties with family life.

Following the announcement, supporters, public officials and well-wishers extended congratulations to the Vice President, his wife and their growing family.
