Abuja — Legal practitioner and political analyst, Barrister Darlington, has alleged that the lingering gas scarcity across parts of Nigeria is not a coincidence but the handiwork of powerful interests controlling the sector.
Speaking during a VOP TV in-house analysis, Barr. Darlington recalled his earlier warning about the situation, insisting that certain “cabals” are deliberately manipulating supply and pricing to serve their own interests.
“When this gas issue started four weeks ago, I said it — there are cabals controlling this thing, and they are behind the gas scarcity,” he said.
He criticized the government’s handling of the crisis, noting that the continued silence from regulatory agencies suggests either complicity or negligence.
Darlington urged authorities to investigate and dismantle the alleged cartel structures influencing the energy market, stressing that ordinary Nigerians should not suffer for the greed of a few.
“It’s always the masses that bear the brunt while a few individuals profit from artificial scarcity,” he added.
