Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has finally spoken out about the ongoing crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), taking aim at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Wike slammed Atiku as a “serial loser,” claiming Nigerians have rejected him at the polls multiple times. “You that contested and failed woefully, Nigerians have rejected you. So pack up and go home,” Wike said, in a scathing remark aimed at the PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate.
Wike was reportedly the preferred recommendation by a party committee. Many southern PDP leaders saw Okowa’s acceptance as a betrayal, with the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders’ Forum branding him a traitor.
Despite backlash, Wike defended his decision to support President Bola Tinubu in 2023, stressing he has “no regrets.” He said his choice was based on principles of equity, fairness, and the best interests of Rivers State.
The feud has deepened rifts within the PDP, especially between northern and southern factions, raising concerns about the party’s unity .
