2027: ‘Katsina votes for Tinubu are non-negotiable’ — Minister

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Rabe Darma, has said members of the Arewa for Asiwaju Group in Katsina State are committed to supporting President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Mr Darma made the declaration on Sunday during the inauguration of the Katsina State coordination committee of the Arewa for Asiwaju Group, also known as A4A, in the state.

According to Mr Darma, the group was established to mobilise support for the Tinubu administration and communicate the Federal Government’s projects and interventions to communities across Northern Nigeria.

He said the initiative was conceived by prominent Nigerians, including the National Security Adviser, former governors, ministers and former government officials.

Mr Darma explained that the group would document Federal Government projects in the North and take information about the administration’s activities directly to people across the region.

Katsina committee inaugurated

The minister, who also serves as chairman of the Katsina State coordination committee, said the main purpose of the Katsina meeting was to formally inaugurate the committee.

The committee comprises selected personalities from the state and is expected to coordinate the group’s activities in Katsina as it mobilises support for Mr Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.

Mr Darma said the organisation would subsequently extend its activities to different parts of Northern Nigeria to highlight what it considers the achievements and interventions of the Tinubu administration.

‘Our votes for Tinubu are non-negotiable’

Speaking specifically about the 2027 election, Mr Darma said members of the group were firmly committed to supporting the President.

“Our votes for Tinubu in 2027 are non-negotiable,” he said.

The statement represents the position expressed by the A4A group and Mr Darma; it does not establish how all Katsina voters will ultimately vote in the 2027 election.
