According to the statement, the House of Representatives primary election will hold on Friday,15 May, 2026, while the Senate primary is scheduled for Monday, 18 May, 2026.
The party further confirmed that the State House of Assembly primary election will take place on Wednesday, 20 May, 2026, followed by the governorship primary on Thursday, 21 May, 2026.
The presidential primary election, the statement added, remains fixed for Saturday, 23 May, 2026.
APC denies timetable changes
The ruling party said the clarification became necessary following what it described as false reports circulating on social media and other communication platforms.
“This clarification has become necessary following the circulation of false and misleading reports on social media and other communication platforms suggesting otherwise,” the statement read.
The APC urged party members, aspirants and the general public to disregard any unofficial information concerning the party’s electoral timetable.
The confirmation comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with internal consultations, endorsements and strategic alignments already shaping the political landscape.
The APC timetable is expected to guide aspirants seeking elective offices across the country ahead of the party primaries.
