A grassroots campaign movement backed by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has commenced mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.
The campaign was launched in Katsina State with the inauguration of the state structure of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a platform established to take support for Tinubu directly to communities, wards, markets and households.
The development comes as political groups supporting the President intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Radda pledges Katsina’s support
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, assured President Tinubu that the state would support his bid for another term.
Speaking at the People’s Square in Katsina during the flag-off and inauguration of the movement’s state structure, Mr Radda described Katsina as a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress.
“Katsina State is an APC state. Every elected person in Katsina State is a member of the All Progressives Congress,” he said.
He also said the state had a “special attachment” to President Tinubu and urged residents to support the administration.
Tinubu’s reforms highlighted
Mr Radda praised the Federal Government’s economic reforms, arguing that they had increased the resources available to state governments and strengthened financial autonomy for local governments.
“President Bola Tinubu came with a lot of reforms which have enabled state governors to do a lot of good work for the people of our states,” the governor said.
He assured the President that Katsina would support his re-election.
“President Bola Tinubu, I want you to be rest assured that Katsina State is your state and will not let you down. We will support you, our people will support you, Insha Allah,” he said.
Tompolo’s message
Representing Mr Ekpemupolo at the event, High Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi urged members of the movement to take the campaign beyond political gatherings and directly engage voters.
He called on members to take the mobilisation to wards, communities, markets and households, reflecting the movement’s emphasis on grassroots political engagement.
Mr Ekpemupolo, through the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, has previously expressed support for Mr Tinubu’s continued presidency and called for sustained grassroots mobilisation ahead of 2027.
APC seeks collaboration
The Katsina State APC Chairman, Dr Bishir Gambo Saulawa, described the party as a united family and called for cooperation between the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement and existing APC structures.
Campaign vehicles were also presented to coordinators across the state’s 34 Local Government Areas to support the movement’s activities.
The campaign represents another step in the intensifying political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
For voters, the focus on door-to-door engagement means political campaigns are increasingly moving beyond rallies and social media to direct conversations with households and communities. The movement’s supporters are expected to use that platform to promote Tinubu’s reforms, while voters will ultimately assess those claims against their everyday experiences with the economy, jobs, security and public services.
