The All Progressives Grand Alliance has announced the screening schedule for aspirants seeking nomination for Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly seats ahead of the party’s 2026 primary elections.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Awka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, disclosed that the screening for Senate and House of Representatives aspirants will hold on Monday, 11 May, 2026, at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
The screening for aspirants seeking seats in the Anambra State House of Assembly is scheduled for Tuesday, 12 May, 2026, at APGA’s regional office in Awka.
According to the statement, all screening exercises will commence at 10 a.m.
Access restrictions and requirements
Mr Opara said only members of the screening committee and duly cleared aspirants would be allowed access to the venues.
“All other persons, including supporters, aides, and associates, are strictly advised to stay away from the venues to ensure orderliness,” the statement read.
He also directed aspirants to appear physically with the original copies of their highest academic qualifications for verification.
“Photocopies will not be accepted in lieu of originals,” he added.
Screening free of charge
The APGA spokesman stressed that the screening process is entirely free and warned aspirants against making payments to individuals or committees.
“No aspirant is required to pay, or should pay, any amount of money to any person or committee, under any guise whatsoever,” Mr Opara stated.
He urged aspirants to immediately report any demand for payment to the party’s National Secretariat.
Mr Opara noted that screening schedules for aspirants from states outside Anambra would be communicated later through official party channels.
