The Federal Capital Territory Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 3,500 personnel across Abuja and its environs to ensure the safety of lives and property during the 2025 Easter celebrations.
The FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, made this known while addressing officers at the Corps’ headquarters in Abuja, ahead of the commencement of Easter security operations.

Commandant Odumosu said the deployment is part of proactive measures aimed at safeguarding Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, while also maintaining law and order throughout the festive period.
He stressed the need for heightened vigilance at vulnerable locations and soft targets such as churches, markets, shopping malls, recreational centres, amusement parks, motor parks, the city gate, and the Three Arms Zone.
“Personnel have been strategically deployed to secure high-risk areas where large gatherings are expected. We are not leaving anything to chance. Every effort is being made to ensure that residents and visitors enjoy a peaceful and secure celebration,” Odumosu stated.
He also ordered that all government buildings and facilities housing key national infrastructure must be thoroughly protected to prevent incidents of vandalism or sabotage, noting that such threats tend to increase during major holidays.
The Commandant urged residents to cooperate with security operatives and report any suspicious activity promptly, assuring that the NSCDC remains committed to the safety and security of the FCT.
