Nollywood filmmaker Funke Akindele, rapper Falz, media personality Kiekie, and other creative voices came together to share personal stories at the Chude Live Conversation Show on Sunday night.
The event marked the debut of #WithChude Live, hosted by entrepreneur and storyteller Chude Jideonwo. Speaking during the show, Jideonwo emphasized that the platform was not just another talk show but a safe space where laughter, vulnerability, wisdom, and healing intersect. According to him, it created an atmosphere where individuals—particularly young Nigerians—could feel seen, heard, and deeply connected.

Reflecting on her experience, Akindele described the show as one that celebrates humanity, offering audiences the chance to hear celebrities reveal their journeys, struggles, and triumphs.
Sharing a deeply personal story, Akindele recalled being subjected to online mockery over her personal life.
“There was a video on social media where some women mocked me for not having a husband. I see all the insults, all the posts claiming I left one marriage for another,” she said.
“I cried and cried. Eventually, I realized I needed to speak to someone. I reached out to my therapist, and it helped me heal. You can’t bottle everything inside—you have to speak up.”
She encouraged the audience to prioritize their mental health and highlighted how she channeled the negativity into creativity, ultimately producing a film inspired by her experiences.
Akindele also spoke about achieving over a billion views at the box office with one of her films—a milestone some doubted she could reach. She emphasized her commitment to nurturing the next generation of filmmakers and creating opportunities for emerging Nollywood stars.
Media personality and fashion influencer Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, expressed her excitement at being part of the show.
“I feel delighted whenever I have the opportunity to express myself before a live audience,” she said, noting that conversations around career, work, and the entertainment industry are vital.
Rapper, songwriter, and actor Folarin Falana, known as Falz, recounted the emotional weight of his involvement in the #EndSARS protests.
“The EndSARS period was one of the craziest and toughest times of my life,” he shared.
“Still, I have no regrets. That moment was monumental, and I’m proud to have been part of the struggle.”
Voice of the people (VOP) also reports that other prominent personalities shared their stories, including comedian Bovi Ugboma, rapper and faith leader Pastor Jerry Eze, fashion designer Veekee James, gospel artist Moses Bliss, comedian Taaooma, and mental health advocate Hauwa Lawal.
Each speaker opened up about how they manage their mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being while navigating fame, online criticism, and the relentless pressure to stay relevant in a fast-paced industry.
