Supreme court verdict: Remain steadfast, struggle still far from over, Atiku

Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to Thursday’s verdict of the Supreme Court nullifying the ruling by the Court of Appeal which ordered parties in the case over the leadership crisis facing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to abide by the status quo ante bellum, news.ng reports.

Atiku, a chieftain of the ADC with interest of emerging as the party’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 presidential election while welcoming the apex court verdict, urged members of the party not to be lured into complacency as the journey to redeem the country is still far.

Atiku stated, “Even as we welcome the Supreme Court’s firm affirmation of David Mark and the leadership of our great party, the African Democratic Congress, let no one be lulled into complacency. The road ahead remains long in our cause to take back and rescue our country.

Atiku called on members of the party to be guided by truth while remaining steadfast.

“This victory belongs to Nigerians, the courageous millions who refuse to surrender their future. We thank them, and we urge them to remain steadfast, because the struggle is far from over. As we press on, let this truth guide us: eternal vigilance is the price of liberty,” he added.(Daily Trust ,headline rejigged)
