Ayra Starr’s Sister Says Thugs Damaged Her Car After Mistaking Her for Singer

The sister of Nigerian music star Ayra Starr says she was left shaken after suspected thugs allegedly damaged her vehicle after mistaking her for the award-winning singer.

Sharing her experience on social media, she said the incident happened when the attackers believed she was Ayra Starr. According to her, the misunderstanding quickly escalated, leaving her car vandalised before the suspects fled.

Although no injuries were reported, she described the experience as frightening and called for greater respect for people’s safety regardless of their public status or family connections.

The incident has sparked conversations online about the security challenges faced not only by celebrities but also by their relatives, who can sometimes become unintended targets because of their association with public figures.

Many social media users expressed sympathy, noting that no one should be subjected to intimidation or violence because of mistaken identity. Others called on security agencies to ensure those responsible are identified and held accountable.

As of the time of this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor Ayra Starr had publicly commented on the incident. The extent of the damage to the vehicle has also not been independently verified.

The incident highlights growing concerns about public safety and the need to protect individuals from harassment and violence, whether they are public figures or ordinary citizens.
