Energy experts have urged Nigerians not to abandon the use of cooking gas in favor of firewood, despite rising gas prices. Speaking on the issue, specialists cautioned that reverting to firewood poses serious health and environmental risks, including respiratory diseases and deforestation.

They emphasized that while many households are feeling the strain of high gas prices, turning to firewood could lead to long-term damage, particularly in rural communities. Experts also called on the government to find sustainable solutions to make cooking gas more affordable for Nigerians.

In their advice, they encouraged citizens to explore energy-efficient cooking methods and continue using cleaner fuel options whenever possible.
