Champion Breweries Plc has strengthened its expansion drive with the integration of a new subsidiary, as the firm continues to scale operations and diversify its portfolio following recent acquisitions and capital market activities.

The company disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, alongside plans to hold its 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 21 May 2026, in Lagos.

Champion Breweries said the AGM comes at a key stage in its corporate evolution, following a year marked by aggressive expansion, including the acquisition of Bullet Energy Drink and a successful capital market exercise aimed at raising growth funding.

The company added that it is transitioning into a full group structure following the acquisition of an 80 per cent stake in enJOYbev B.V., a move designed to support its international expansion strategy and broaden revenue streams.

According to the firm, the subsidiary has already begun contributing to earnings and is now being consolidated into group accounts for the first time.

Shareholder-focused governance agenda

The company said the AGM will be held physically in Lagos while also being accessible online via its official platform, in line with its commitment to transparency and investor engagement.

Shareholders are expected to consider audited financial statements for the year ended 31 December, 2025, alongside directors’ and auditors’ reports and audit committee submissions.

Other key agenda items include dividend declaration, election and re-election of directors, and approval of auditors’ remuneration.

Leadership perspective on growth strategy

The Chairman of the Board, Imo Abasi Jacob, described the past year as a defining period for the company’s transformation.

He said the acquisition of Bullet, capital market expansion, and integration of enJOYbev B.V. reflect a deliberate strategy for sustainable growth and diversification.

“These milestones position Champion Breweries Plc for stronger performance, broader market reach, and enhanced shareholder value,” he said.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to operational efficiency, strong corporate governance, and long-term value creation as the company strengthens its presence within Nigeria and expands into international markets.

Analysts say the restructuring places Champion Breweries among Nigerian consumer goods firms increasingly pursuing group expansion models to compete in a more consolidated beverage industry.
