
According to Voice of the People Report (voptv) A dramatic escalation of regional tensions, Israel has launched a broad military offensive across Iran, targeting key military and nuclear sites in what it described as a “preemptive strike against imminent threats.”
Among the dead is Major General Hossein Salami, commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), who was killed in a targeted strike on the IRGC’s Tehran headquarters. Reports also indicate the deaths of several other senior Iranian officials,
including General Mohammad Bagheri, Iran’s military chief of staff, and Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, head of Iran’s central military command.
The strikes—part of an Israeli operation reportedly involving fighter jets, drones, and cyberwarfare—hit over 100 locations across Iran, including suspected nuclear development facilities near Natanz and Fordow.
“This was a decisive action to dismantle Iran’s capacity to carry out attacks against Israeli civilians,” said a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s office.
Iranian state media has confirmed the deaths of senior commanders and reported “significant damage” to military infrastructure. The Iranian government has vowed swift and “unforgettable retaliation.
In the immediate aftermath, Iran launched a wave of drone and missile attacks toward Israel, most of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system, according to Israeli military sources.
The United States, while denying direct involvement, called for restraint and confirmed it is monitoring the situation close.
