Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has been laid to rest, with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, businessman Aliko Dangote, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and other prominent Nigerians paying tribute to the late politician.
The burial ceremony brought together political leaders, business figures, family members and associates who gathered to honour Tukur and reflect on his contributions to Nigeria’s political development.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo described the late Tukur as a committed Nigerian whose political career spanned several important periods in the country’s history.
Mr Obasanjo joined other dignitaries in mourning the former PDP chairman, acknowledging his service to the nation and his contributions to public life.
Businessman Aliko Dangote also paid tribute to Tukur, remembering him as a respected figure whose influence extended beyond partisan politics.

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri also honoured the late politician, with the governor and other state figures paying their respects during the funeral proceedings.
Mr Fintiri’s tribute reflected Tukur’s significance to Adamawa and his long involvement in the state’s political affairs.
A long political career
Late Tukur was a prominent figure in Nigerian politics and served as national chairman of the PDP during a politically significant period for the party.
His political career also included public service and involvement in national development, making his death a notable loss to the country’s political community.
Beyond the tributes from political and business leaders, Tukur’s burial represents the closing chapter of the life of a politician who witnessed and participated in several phases of Nigeria’s democratic journey.
